I passed the SCWCD exam today. Thanks to everyone here & on the SCWCD Study Forum who answered my various comments/questions.
I am doing this in FAQ style:
What books did you use to study with? I used the various links here on JavaRanch. I did not buy any new books for this exam. I had about a 1/2 dozen
JSP &
Servlet books already in my personal library.
What did you use for Mock Exams? I purchased the JWebPlus mock exam. I found it to be incredibly helpful.
How long did you study? Maybe a couple hours a day for about 6-8 weeks.
What is the new type of question you seen? There used to be 3 types of questions on Sun's multiple choice exams:
Type 1. Radio button
Type 2. Check Box
Type 3. Fill in the blank
However, there is now a 4th type (it might have been around for awhile, but this is the first time in my personal experience I seen this 4th type of question)
It was called something like "interactive" question. I had to place items "in order". When I reviewed the question, I could not open it without starting the question all over again. It had a warning note like "If you review this question - you must re-answer the question".
The question was not that difficult, and I am almost sure I got the answer correct. However, like I said, this is the first time I have seen this type of question.
What is your next step? The IBM XML Certification - Exam 141
How do you rank the difficulty of the SCWCD exam to the SCJP2 exam? When I passed the
SCJP was more than 2 years ago, and there was not the plethora of study materials that there is now.
I rank the SCJP2 exam a 9 out of 10.
I rank the SCWCD exam a 5 out of 10.
Are you one of those "old people"?(over 35 years old) Yep!
