about certificate....please help me out!

hi,
I passed scjp2 on july 31st. but i recieved the certificate with my firstname wrongly spelled.i informed prometric and updated with correct spelling. i also wrote mail to [e-mail].i did'nt get any reply from them.
Any of u have an idea that how long will it take to get my new certificate.Does this happen to anybody? please help me out.

Have you considered changing your actual name to that which was printed on your certificate

You can correct the spelling on this link. They normally respond to emails but you have to be on their database before they can send you the corrected certificate.

I still say that maybe you should learn to live with the new spelling of your name.
Get in touch with your local authorities and ask how you can officially change the spelling of your name on official documents such as your birth certificate and driving license etc...
Alerntatively you could change your name to something really simple, that is difficult to mis-spell, such as David or Paul or Kevin. Then re-sit the exam.

Finally,iam happy to say that last week i recieved my certificate with correct spelling.

Hi Sulekha,
I had the same problem before, my first name is wrong.

This an excerpt from FAQ of Sun's Certmanager:
" Question:
How can I change the spelling of my name in the database and on my Certificate?
Answer:
While you are able to change your address, phone number, email address etc in our database you are not able to change your name.
To do this please send the following information to [e-mail]
How name currently appears:
How name should be fixed:
Student ID number:"
Don't worry once you email your problem to [e-mail], they will reply ASAP.. if you're lucky or 3-4 weeks and you can see the changes in the certmanager and they will going to send you another certificate with another SCJP Pin.. COOL.

Thanks for the help. i called sun education's toll free number.The person answered to all my questions patiently and told me to send an email to [e-mail]. i got reply from them saying that it will take 2-3 weeks.And finally last week i recieved my new certificate with everything correctly spelled.iam so glad to see the new one.
