Hi all,
I cleared SCJP 1.4 with 68% on Saturday.
Right now i am doing Masters in Information Systems. Fall semester already started and i wanted to finish the Certification. I did it within a month. Due to shortage of time, i didn't solve lot of mocks.
I am thankful to javaranch for answering my questions and suggesting me various links and material.
Should i go for SCJD or SCWCD? Pls suggest.
Thanks
Salima

I've heard most people suggest the SCWCD because its multiple choice, easier than SCJD, and look better in resume.

Good job Salima
I've heard most people suggest the SCWCD because its multiple choice, easier than SCJD, and look better in resume.
The question is "why are you taking certifications?". Because they look good in your resume or because you are interested in the subject? The former won't buy you anything, the latter will!!

Hi,
Please dont think which certification is easier and looks nice in u'r resume. Try to think what all things u will learn from it. I am presently doing my SCJD. I choose SCJD over SCWCD because while doing SCJD I have a good opportunity to study design patterns, design principles, RMI, Swing etc. Out of these, design patterns and principles will be usefull in u'r SCEA exams. Also in SCJD, u will will get a real life project assignment.
I am not trying to state that SCJD is better that SCWCD. Just identify what u want to learn and choose the certification path.
cheers Jacob
