I've programmed in Java since 1997 (applets, j2ee, corba, rmi, jini, etc.), have a master's degree in comp sci, and still count the SCPJ2 as a nice achievement. Having experience, at first I wasn't too enthused about having to go back and study the basics, but the reality check of missing sample test questions after just skimming a couple of chapters of a study guide kicked me into gear. My attitude changed and I was happy to be re-learning material I mistakenly thought I knew.

Hi, Rob,
Nice job. I think you are right, even with experience, SCJP exam will still help you to improve the Java basis. I found out in my job, some of the experieced Java programers don't have the solid foundations
