I didn't pass SCJP 1.2 two weeks ago (57%). Today is the frist day I see this site. I hope I could join this site one month ago.
After reading some posts here, I realized I didn't do enough mock exams (I only did 5 or 6), although I believed that I understood the concept well at that time. Another weak reason was I lost for a hour when I went to the test center. It affected my mood a lot.
Prepare well before you take the exam and don't get lost- the lessons I learn.
Today, some posts encourages me to re-take the test. I did Marcus's 3 exams last week. I got three 71% scores. Should I take 1.4 this time instead of 1.2? Do I need to buy a new book for 1.4 exam? Or doing more mock exams is enough?

Oh! What bad luck! I would advise you to study for a little longer perhaps using Dan Chisholm's excellent problem set.
Also wait for Kathy Sierra's study material (a few weeks yet).
Then you will be well prepared for the retake (if you don't get lost again that is )

Oh boy!
I was almost on the point of failing the exam. I had a bit lucky with finding this site. Of course I didn't take the exam yet. I am almost there. After knowing this site, I raise my challenge a bit high so that get some perfect score. If I don't find this site, I couldn't ever try my new challenge and I might have a bad result.
Open eye wider!

Oh! The direction to the test center in the confirmation email may not be always correct. In my case, the direction they gave to me was not correct (CTL01). You better double-check the location on yahoo map or somewhere else.
