I have cleared the exam this morning. Got 79% which is not a good score but for the preparation that I had put in, I have no complaints. Some of my observations from the exam ...
It was a little tougher than the JWebPlus tests.
There are questions from design patterns outside the four listed in objectives.
Emphasis on the web.xml file. I did atleast two questions wrong on the names of the elements... whether it is class or listener-class. Is it param-name and param-value or just name and value.... No logic in these questions but you just have to mug up...
There is plenty of time - I finished the test and the survey in one hour.
There are lot of questions on custom tags - the topic needs maximum time during preparation.
There is a typo in the result card - One of the topics is listed as Handling server side expectations !
Manning's book is of great help. In fact I would say it is self sufficient if clearing the exam is the goal.
Thanks all the people at Javaranch. This is an invaluable source of inspiration and guidence.
Wishing everyone good luck...
