I took the test a few weeks earlier than I wanted to, because I am leaving for the British Virgin Islands tommorrow !!!
The new passing grade is 52%, so 67% is Ok. I wasn't psyched, but it does the trick. I get all freaked out about tests anyway. I went back and changed abunch of my answers, which is a no no.
I already have my MCSD and comparing Microsoft to Sun tests, I would say they are similar. Many of the questions don't test your ability as much as they just try to throw you a curve ball. The Microsoft tests, however, try to turn you into a walking/taking Microsoft sales rep. The Sun test is really focused on the language and not technology (kudos to Sun).
Lots of thread questions on my test. Obviously they took away I/O and AWT to concentrate more on the language. READ EVERYTHING. Watch out for silly things like public void static main (String ARGS) with no array of Strings.
I used JQPlus and the most for studying. Funny, I always scored high on the tough and 'brainer' questions but did miserably on the easy and very easy. I guess I just overthink stuff sometimes.
Anyway . . .
Thanks to everyone here. Thanks to Dan, especially for Assertion questions. Thanks to Bert and Kathy. I got to read a couple of chapters of your new book this week before I took the test. I wish I had that book sooner !!!
It's laid out logically and reads alot faster than some others. (Warning: Exam Cram book is a very high level view of the stuff you need. I would suggest you only use that as a refresher. The practice tests are helpful too.)
I'm off to the islands !!!
