Dear Friends,
I failed SJCP 1.4 exam but will try again.
I made simple mistakes and nervous. Now have to study and gain confidence.

Never mind Mohan
You will pass next time if you work hard. Key to pass in the exam is not to get nervous and stay focused. If you can’t answer tough question don’t let it affect your confidence.
I do appreciate you honesty of admitting your failures.
Wish you all the best.

Mohan,
Sorry, to hear that but you will suceed next time. The SCJP exam has been the hardest that I've taken so far. I was told by the Sun Folks that about 20% don't make it the first time. That exam is full of question designed to trip you up especially if you have a C/C++ background.
Take lots of mock tests and I recommend the new Exam Cram - Java 2 by Brogden. I used his book and one other. You will succeed!!!

There is always a make up exam. Good luck next time.
If you prepare with the phillip heller book end to end you can easily pass.

Hi Mohan, welcome to Java Ranch. I'm sorry to hear that you did not make it this time. At least you will not be so nervous next time, you will know what to expect. Take an active part in the forums, you will learn from it Above all take your time, and do not take the test until feel you are really ready, perhaps even add one more month for safety.

Sorry, Mohan. Keep on studying and taking mock exams. Polish up on the parts you are weak on.
I suggest you take a lot of Dan Chisholm's tests even though they are bad for the ego. If you can score over 50% on a couple of Dan's tests you are pretty close.....
