When you were ready to take the SCJP, how long did you have to wait before you could take the test?
Is there a backlog of people trying to take the exam or were you able to take it within the week?
Just trying to gauge my study and when I should call to get a voucher.
Thanks.

There is no backlog in California in the US, not sure if that is the same in other parts of the world. But that means you can sign up whenever you want to.
Also don't worry too much about it. Because even if there was a month backlog, you would be ready and also have an extra month to study to be even extra ready.

I cannot see why you would have to wait at all!
When I took the SCJP I called up the previous day and registered with Prometric Testing for my preferred time slot, then showed up 15 minutes early. That was it. Unless they are completely booked up at all reachable centers you should have no problem. It's nothing special, just an office with some networked PC's running testing software.....
