First of all let me say that the Sierra/Bates book is THE BOOK for Java Certification. YOU DON'T NEED A BOOK OTHER THAN THEIRS! It was well written and well organized. The humor in the book was actually humorous. I felt well prepare for the exam (by the way, I've been coding in Java for 4+ years). I wish Sierra and Bates would put something together for the SCWCD exam ... anyway ...
I know that there are very smart people in this forum but it kind of sucks to hear so many people say something like... "I'm a cobol programmer and I studied for 2 weeks, 15 minutes a day and passed with an 101%". I'm obviously exagerating the point ... but stuff like that is why our credentials get slammed. I wish we had regulated licensing in the software industry.

Eric -
Congratulations! We're glad the book helped. We're thinking about an SCWCD book (but the Deshmukh book is good.), BUT, we ARE starting on a book for the new EJB certification! Let us know if you're interested in that.

Hi Bert,
I'm with Sachit on this one, I'd be very interested in taking the new EJB exam and also very interested in your new book. I filled out the survey so I might receive a free voucher for the beta! Will your book be out by beta time?
Judging by the topics on the survey I'm going to need all the help I can get
thanks,
Colin.

Howdy EJBians -
Unfortunately the book won't be done by beta test time - but we may have a few key chapters for JavaRanch folks to preview and comment on - we will let you know when those sample chapters are ready!
