hi, Amila . taking the test was a part of a schoolarship , and they orgaanized that we take SCJP1.2.

1.2's just fine. If the exam-preparation is a big part of your learning Java and you intend to tackle SCJD, you already have some headstart with IO and AWT (foundation for GUI/Swing) which are big topics not in the SCJP 1.4 exam.
