Iam over the top. I passed SCWCD today with 100%.Many thanks to java ranchers. This could not have been possible with out this great forum.
Posts by William Brogden,Maha annadurai,Peter Den Haan,Bear Bibeault,Carl Trusiac,Madav Lakkapragada,Jessica sant,Simon Brown,Paul Anil..just to name a few were wonderful and very informative. The only book that i used was SCWCD Study Kit by Hanumanth Deshmukh and Jignesh Malaviya.I also wrote mock exams from the CD that came with the book and others available on internet like, Anad Chawla's(great mock) and WithMilk.com. The book and the CD that came with it were just great.
I found the exam to be easy as compared to SCJP.If you read the above book well, it should'nt be hard. Be on Java Ranch and search for posts of people i mentioned above(ofcourse many other posts were equally good) and you would just enjoy your study.
Just finished my MS and got my Employment Authorization, So i think i should search for jobs from now on.
Thanks Java Ranch...

Great job!!
How familiar were you with the material before you started reading the book and preparing?

Hi Nathaniel,
I would say that i have reasonable experience.Did some projects using J2EE platform,
but i have learnt many things with this preparation than what i had to do in the projects. But i can say that, by reading the book and playing around with the examples might be enough for beginners to grasp the logic.
Visualizing how jsp code would be translated to java is the key for jsp part of the exam.Since the examination tests you on specifications, there is no other go other than knowing things.I would recommend exhaustive study rather than intensive study(which you do for scjp).
Good Luck for your exam,
Sridhar Guntur.
