I passed SCJP a few days ago -surprised to get 93%.
Four wrong answers; two were about threads.
I got 78% on Kathy and Bert's questions, similar on
the enclosed MasterExams and Marcus Green's mocks.
Dan's tough mocks: wildly varying scores averaging 60%.
I had marked my weak points in K&B's book. Last steps
before the exam were: re-read the marked points and
the chapter summaries, then re-take all of the book's
questions I had failed previously. (I still got three wrong.)
Preparing for this exam, and achieving the pass has
been one of the most satisfying experiences of my
25 years in the computer business.
I hope to sign up for the Developer's exam soon.
Thanks for such a friendly and useful web site.
And thanks to Kathy and Bert for a top-class book.
(If you are one of the many struck by it's engaging
style, I would recommend reading the authors'
fascinating interview at OnJava
How can I learn to teach like that to my Java Swing
students? )
