Hi,
I passed the scjp1.4 exam on wednesday. I passed with 72%. I took the exam in prometric centre in Malleswaram, Bangalore (RIT Education). I'd been preparing for the exam in New Jersey to take the exam in October but i didnt take it there. We moved to India in November. In December, I brushed up all the topics with the help of K&B's book and Dan's topic wise questions. Took me a week for revision and I wrote the exam on 17th Dec.
K&B's book is very gud, helped me to prepare for my exam.
Dan's topic wise questions helped me a lot.
Can you give me tips on which certification i should pursue next, developer or web developer?
Thanks,
vidya

Vidya,
The best certification to pursue next depends on your interests and the jobs that are available in the area where you live. It might be a good idea to talk to other programmers in your area.

Hi,
Over and above the market and job requirements, SCJD is a good exercise. If taken in the true sense (using your own approach for design and implementation, rather than following some texts), not only does the test prepares oneself with all the minimum required tools to face the java problems, but also makes one confident in the area.
In that direction, clearing SCJD would be a good idea before other "Enterprise Certifications in Java". And I have met very few SCJD developers whereas I could meet lot of certified people in other areas.
Another fact to be realised before you start SCJD is that, the test by itself is NOT a matter of few minutes in front of the system. It might take weeks or even months (depending on how long you work on the assignment, daily).
