Kindly excuse me folks, for having replied a bit late for all the questions regarding SCBCD exam preparation...
In my exam, in three sections i could manage 100%, rest all were in the 65% to 70% range and in one section i failed miserably scoring ONLY 50%.. Pathetic!!!. I will be posting the scores shortly, as i don not have my marks list with me now...
My main prep was Head-First-EJB.. (I read, and reread that book at least 3 times, to check if i had missed anything). But folks please PLEASE go through the specifications.. DO NOT NEGLECT THEM.. That is one cardinal sin i had committed, for which I am repenting now.. 'coz there are certain topics, which are lucidly explained in the specs...
For exceptons, I took Print Outs of all the Classes.. NoSuchObjectException,FinderException etc.. 'coz there are chances that u might be confused between application & run time exceptions
FOLKS!!! Life Cycles ARE A MUST!!. You should get them so throughly, that you should be able to repeat them in your sleep!!. Lots of questions..
Try writing the Deployment Descriptor Completely once, one your own.. A lot of DD tags were understood in the proper perspective, when i put them down on paper....
DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED.. if u don't pass(or just manage to pass) in the HEAD-FIRST-EJB Mock Exam. Bert & Kathy have done a world of good (Thank u once again folks..) by having introduced multiple choice questions..' coz they will really test your knowledge.. Real exam is much easier...
Resources & Notes
1)Deployment Descriptor PDF File- By Crettaz--> Very informative.. U must get this
2)Bean Provider Responsibilities.pdf- By Crettaz
3)Exception Handling.pdf by Crettaz
4) EJB2.0 Specs-- MUST!!!
5) EJBDiscussion Groups at Yahoogroups.
MOCK EXAMS
1) jDiscuss Offers you a couple of mock exams. They are really good. Thanks to the folks at Enthuware.
2) EJBCertificate.com gives a demo exam
3) softSCBCD is also there.. but then, its not free...
So folks,
Hope i have cleared your doubts.. Will be posting the exam results shortly..
Regds,
PVS
