Although the binary arithmetic topic that i revised my socks off for did not appear!
I had 50 minutes remaining, and I should've done the right thing and reviewed my marked answers. Perhaps it would've helped raise the score up by 5 or 10 %.
But the main this is it's wonderful when you pass, after months of revision - which is extremely difficult when you have a full-time day job.
Cheers,
Ash

Hi guys,
thanks for your comments. i used 2 books to help me pass my exam:
Complete Java 2 Certification Study Guide Book/CD Package 4th Edition by Simon Roberts, Phillip Heller
and
Sun Certified Programmer for Java 2 Study Guide Book/CD Package 3rd Edition
by Kath S. and Bert Bates.
I found the first book (P. Heller) hard going. Also didn't like the format in which it was presented. Another problem was, although the book cover said it was updated for the 1.4 exam, it still had chapters on out of date objectives, e.g. IO and AWT etc.
After I reviewed the latest exam objectives, I found Kathy and Bert's book. Which is SUPERB. I basically took their tip of "15 mins" revision. E.g., after a hard day in the office, the last thing you want to do is revise when you get home. So once I got all my other chores out the way, I would revise. I did at least 15 minutes - after which, if things were going well, I would continue for 30 minutes - 1 hour.
I also found the Exam prep software (master exam) excellent. The only thing i would recommend for the next version is for the exam prep software to allow "short answer" questions.
I had lots of questions on multi-dimensional arrays, overXing, etc. I didn't get many questions on inner classes, and none for binary operations which i found to be my toughest topics during revision. Lots of questions of threads were there also.
Taking the exam was one of the best decisions I've made for professional certification. As a developer, I've found that revising for the exam has given me a deeper understanding of how and why certain things work the way they do.
