Hi Swapna,
What i think is..... eventhough u know java fundamentals, its better to buy one good Certification Book. kathy & Bert Bates Book is the EXCELLENT one.
Then go through all the chapters and then try to take some of the Mock exams. Then if u r confident.... take the real exam.
Good Luck...

Hi swapna,
as viswas mentioned , kathys book is a wonderful book to prepare for the certification!!
provided you have some experience with programming, u can finish the exam by preparing for 2-3 weeks (@ 4-5 hrs each )
if you dont have much experience, i would say 5-8 weeks at the same rate
good luck for your exams

Well there are diferent opinions about this time issue.
Asking this question is wrong. why?
You should ask how many times I need to go trough the book. (3)
How much I should score on q on cd? (first time taken should be > 80)
**************** Important ********************************
Do not take Markus online test untill you think you are ready.
It will give you exact score +-3 points (beats me to understand why questions on the real test are totaly different and still same score)
**************** Important ends ****************************
I personaly think that people write here smaler amount of time than it
really took them. However I do belive that there are people that
didn't need preparation at all.

Mr.Alan Ford was right, can't say abt other pple but it took me not more than 3 weeks not kidding, i read for 4-5 hrs a day and was prepared to take the test again if i fail to get 55%, be confident in yourself different pple have different opinions do listen to them but do think b4 following them, u have to make ur own decision. when i started java i read forums in which pple suggested to have atleast one year programming experience in java to take test, i don't had any experience but still managed to pass and learn java quickly, final answer.....have faith in urself

Hi , I am studying the chapters from Khaled Rasmussen Book for Java Certification. Then I intend to take some mock exams.
I am able to study an hour a day.
Should this be enough???

I agree with Sharmila. Khaled really is a good book. Try Dans exams along with it, youll get a better idea of your preparation.
Remember, practice is the key. Do try a lot of mocks. You can get a list of them at javaranch.
