Funny coincidence... When I congratulated Olivier this morning, his name rang me a bell but ... I couldn't make any link.
I discovered today that Olivier attended an Advanced J2SE class of mine last week and ... passed today - with a comparable score (anyway for the part I corrected already , the theoretical one) - the exam I organized today!
So Olivier, I guess that I owe you some more congratulations... done!
And I've heard today that your great SCJP cert motivated some colleagues of you to follow you on that path... Congratulations and thank you for that too!
BTW, what's the next for you?
In my previous post, I forgot to write "Welcome to the Ranch!". It's now corrected, and I sincerily hope you'll enjoy that so nice Java place for a while.
Best regards,
Phil.

Hello Phil,
I decided to pass this first certification because I think it can help to find a new job (the company where i worked fell into bankruptcy the second day of march). So i decide to pass the exam immediately. I just red the book from Kathy Sierra & Bert Bates and i passed the SCJP on march the 17th.
Then i began to work at smals ... on april the 15th... And i'm now learning with you to become an architect ... It's an interesting challenge i think...
I would like to pass the Web component certification, but it 'll not be possible for the moment because i have to read some books (about ebj and architectural patterns) for your next courses at smals.
See you soon !

I didn't know you passed in March, I thought it was last week...

Argh! No luck!
Now all SUN certs are challenging and worth while the involvement.
The SCWCD cert recently was upgraded to 1.4 and - AFAIK - there is no cert book available yet for that new release.
If you intent to get multiple SUN certs, an alternative path could be to pass the SCBCD cert first (EJB) which was released in September 2003 (from memory).
As you enjoyed studying for SCJP with Kathy and Bert's Study Guide, you should enjoy preparing for SCBCD with Head First EJB as well.
Clear explanations, all cert objective covered and ... much humour as usual!
BTW, Kathy is one of the moderators of the SCBCD forum, where she's incredibly helpful too.
Books aimed to the new SCWCD 1.4 cert will be available in the meantime (including Head First Servlet & JSP), making your prep much easier.
Best regards,
Phil.
