Hi,

Yesterday I passed the exam with 93%. I missed 4 questions.

However, there was one question about Strings that had a fault in the syntax. The System.out.println was incorrectly spelled. So at first sight, it was a compiler error but that was no option in the answers. Does anyone have had this problem before?

Next I want to go for the SCWCD, but my boss is not convinced. He says that only the programmer and the architect are important. So any good argument for the Web Component and the Business Component are very welcome..

Thx

First congratulations on passing with 93%.

I too had a similar problem like you when the given code was obviously wrong (cant post what it is) in the test with no compilation error option. So, I chose an answer. Couldn't do much about it.

Siva.

Geoffrey,

First of all - my congratulations ! Your score shows your solid Java knowledge.

I was amazed by your boss' saying.
Architect certification have nothing with coding. This is not for sowtware developers, but for architects. Ofcourse, in small projects - one person is architect, programmer, tester - all in one. But for other projects - there is a roles separation.

So, it depends mostly on :
1) What you doing on your project - if web apps - goto SCWCD, if EJBs (WebSphere, JBoss) - goto SCBCD.
2) How big are your projects. If they small - and you can apply architect's knowledge - goto SCEA, if project has seperation - gaining architect knowledge in SCEA which can not applied later - is not it wasting time?
