Congratulation!

I want to ask you a question.
In my project,i used RMI for remote access. My question is RMI is mutil-thread?Do i need to manager threads myself?

Hi Wills
I too had used RMI, I had designed by DBmain implementation to be thread safe. After that I did not need to do anyhting in the network layer for it to be threadsafe.

Chirag, congrats!

Seems like we both have got the same result for locking (44 of 80), so could you post some notes on this one. It is quite interesting to analyse, that we did wrong. thanks.

Hi Gytis,

I agree with the discussion in the thread to which Andrew is pointing. I had tested for multiple users trying to get the locks but I had not tested to check if multiple users from multiple machines are able to safely lock/unlock. I guess, since I had not tested it, there is a possibility that it may not be working properly.

Wills,
That means, however you choose to implement thread safety in your network layer, Do not forget to write some good tests to prove it to yourself that its working.

Thanks guys for the congrats

I want to know how to test the lock?By software,or program by myself?

Wills
you would need to write some autmotated tests for tesing your locking mechanism.

Wills,

Automated testing is always the best way to go. With automated testing you can change your implementation details and with little effort you can find out if you broke something.

It's been one of the most successful techniques I've had over my software development career.

Look at my database testing code. Use that as a starting point for your own testing.

Congratulations, Chirag!

I must move this thread to the Certification Results forum. You'll now find this thread here.

Best Regards,

Phil.
