I took the SCWCD exam a few months ago after studying hard for a good few months.
I passed with 100%, tbh I got lucky with a couple of the questions, for example I skimmed the security aspect and guessed a couple of the answers.
But I wanted to say that I thought that the exam was very lightweight and didn't touch on a number of areas. The questions were simplistic and didn't fully explore web application programming.
I'm not trying to glorify myself here, I genuinely believe that the exam is too easy and that it devalues the effort that I know a lot of developers put into their revision.
A colleague of mine took a few days off work to study, and passed with flying colors at the end. We are not working with the java standard approach to web applications (unfortunately).
I apologize to those in this forum that are currently studying for the exam.
If you're like me then you don't feel prepared until you really know your stuff. I just feel that the exam doesn't differentiate between those who have working knowledge of the api's and those who have studied the specifications and have learnt the behaviour.
My advice is therefore don't bother going overboard on the revision, knowing the format of the xml, and the api for key areas will be enough to pass.
What are the thoughts of others who have taken the exam?
