Hi folks

I submitted the FBN project on Friday, and took the essay exam on Monday. I just looked at www.certmanager.net/sun (yeah, I know, impatient ) and it now says "Sun Certified Developer for the Java 2 platform" status "Certified" certification date "12/7/04" (I'm English, so that's the 12th July! ).

When I looked last week it just said "Enrolled" with no certification date... so does that mean I passed? Already? The 12th was the day I took the exam, so that's either the fastest marking ever or some wierd Sun way of saying that i've taken the exam

I can't find any marks anywhere, how do I know what I scored?

Ben.

You can check your score from:

There's nothing at all that I can see on the assignments website (just the SCJP mark) but the certmanager website has a "certification event" posted yesterday saying "certified in sun certified developer for the java 2 platform" so I guess I did pass? There's also an "exam event" on the site which just says Grade: Pending From what i've read here, I expected a mark elsewhere before the certmanager website was updates.

Prometric just say "tested", noting about pass or fail (SCJP on that website says "passed")

Still, fantastic service from Sun if they managed to mark the whole thing within 18 hours of me doing the exam!

Then, you may check whether there is an event about issuing the SCJD certification, like SCJP. If so, you are passed already. If not, the grade is not known still.

Now it says "Certified in Sun Certified Developer for the Java 2 Platform", effective 12-Jul-04 but "Enrolled in Sun Certified Developer for the Java 2 Platform" effective 15-Jul-04. Clicking on "Certification Progress" no longer shows SCJD as complete.

I think their system is broken.

OK, their system was totally broken!

I've just got the results, after the usual 4 week wait. The good news is that I did pass... the bad news is that I sucked as badly you can get for a SCJD pass, 124/155

The maximum possible number of points is 155; the minimum to pass is 124. Section Summary Report:

General Considerations: Maximum=58 Deductions=10 Actual=48
Documentation: Maximum=20 Deductions=3 Actual=17
GUI: Maximum=24 Deductions=7 Actual=17
Server: Maximum=53 Deductions=11 Actual=42

Total: Maximum=155 Deductions=31 Certification Score=124

So I dropped marks on everything - bit surprised about that, especially docs and gui - but, hey, it's a pass

A pass is a pass, as you said. Congrats!
