Thanx in advance

Hi Preethi

I personally feel SCWCD is better to be taken earlier than SCBCD. As SCBCD is for J2EE 1.3 and the new version can come up in near future. SCWCD 1.4 has come only recently, so taking that up would be a smarter choice.
Also it depends on your work. If your work involves EJB stuff, better go for SCBCD.

Subba Pradeep
SCJP 1.4 96%

Hi Pradeep,

Thanks for the info. I donno head or tail of both JSP and EJB. So howz JSP? Can we do SCWCD right after SCJP. I read in the forum that somebody received questions regarding EJB in SCWCD? So I am a bit confused...right now... Does the version of certfication matter so much...

Thanx
Preethi

Hi Preethi

JSP is much easier than EJB and stuff. So, I would suggest SCWCD. Take up the book Head First Servlets and JSP by Bryan Basham,Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates (the best book for version 1.4) and the readers of the book are guaranteed a score of 85% and above
Questions of EJB in SCWCD... I doubt
Version of certification matters... if a new version comes up, then you are required to take up an Upgrade exam...

Regards,
Subba Pradeep,
SCJP 1.4

Hi,
I would suggest that you go for SCWCD 1.4 for the simple reason that its very much up-to-date with the current Servlets and JSP specifications (2.4 and 2.0 respectively). The SCBCD exam covers the EJB 2.0 spec which is kind of old (given that technology changes at a blink-and-you-miss speed). EJB 3.0 is under the draft phase and hopefully it'll get released soon.

Cheers,
Abhi.

**If you hope to do both exams in the feauture. I think it's better to start SCWCD.
***If you hope to do one exam only you better to learn SCBCD.

Because concepts of SCWCD (JSP,servlets ..etc)much easier learn than SCBCD (EJB ).I'm not have really SCWCD exam experience. But I know some much of JSP,it's not difficult to learn. I have done som pratical works it's ok. But EJB there had little much difficulties to implement you must have to had lots of concepts in your head. What I feel is start to learn SCBCD is better. Don't worry about new version they may not make an exam for
SCBCD 1.4 Because J2EE 1.4 does not have considerable changes in EJB If there any new version of the exam I feel most probably it will on 2006
