I took SCJP 1.4 exam today and have got 93% (missed 4 out of 61)

First, I would like to thank kathy Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates for their wonderful study guide and Dan Chisholm for excellent collection of mock exam questions.

Thanks to Barry Gaunt and Mike Gershman who answered most of my questions (many other quesions in the scjp forum) that helped me to understand subtle things. Also thanks to all people who provided free exams on net and co-ranchers for posting questions and sharing experiences..

Some of My Experiences:

I have been working in java for nearly three years. I prepared for the exam for three months mostly spending 1 to 2 hrs per day. I studied only K & B book and took many mock exams. Dan's collection was execellent one. marcus green's question are also very good. I also took free tests on
http://www.javacertificate.com and http://www.jdiscuss.com.

Few days before the exam I took marcus green final test and got 88%. Before the exam I went through 2 min drill and exam watches on K & B book and they really helped a lot during the actual exam. Anand's Study Notes is also good to go through before the exam.

The actual exam is not very tough, I can say that around 15 questions were very straight forward and easy. The questions on Strings, Collections and Wrappers were easy. Surprisingly I got 100% on Threads. Garbagge collection is little tougher. I would advice people to pay close attention to avoid careless mistakes. I completed first iteration of answering all question in 1:15 mins, went through marked ones and made quick review of all the questions and submitted before 15 mins. I didn't change any during review.

Wishing every one All The Best.

Thanks,
Rajasekar.
