whew.. finally i cleared the scjp, i was so tensed i thought i wudnt be able to clear it, i felt a little bit depressed when i saw i got 85% i was expecting above 90 anyways atleast i got certified

and thanks a ton to Kathy & Bert bates their book helped me a lot and dan`s exams were really challenging and finally to the javaranch members without which i would not have been able to acheive this

before the exam i took marcus test and got 91%, i felt the first 10 questions tougher than the rest( well that may be b`cos of my tension) but from the 15th question it went smoothly
i was left out with 40 mins after finishing the exam and i checked the marked questions and did a total review of all the questions(i was reluctant to press the end button b`cos i was left out with 10 mins and wanted another review) but finally i made the effort and got the results

dan`s exams were real cool and helped me a lot

Congrats Shandilya .

I am planning to take SCJP on feb 14th. Are some topics like Threads more difficult than the mock exams. Is the exam standard closer to Marcus or Dan Chisolm

Thanks .

i found threads difficult and i wasnt able to answer one question which was based on operator precedence.rest was fine and the exam was very much similar to marcus except for gc and threads.personally i think k&b book would be enough for the exam, though taking the dan`s exams gives u a good insight into topics

Be sure to check every exhibit for "does not compile". There are more of these than on any mock exam I took.

I've read about this kind of thing at the checkout counter. That's where I met this tiny ad:
