Hi All,
My certManager Test History shows I have passed SCJD exam with a score of
343.
I want to thank all the members and this site founder and moderators, for
having this site and moderating it so well organized.
I was able to get most of my questions answered here with a simple search in the repository.

Scores break-down:
General Considerations (maximum = 100): 97
Documentation (maximum = 70): 70
O-O Design (maximum = 30): 15
GUI (maximum = 40): 37
Locking (maximum = 80): 44
Data store (maximum = 40): 40
Network server (maximum = 40): 40

My disadvantage was that I don't use Java at work, where I use VC++. While working on this assignment I was living in two separate worlds.
When I started on this, I had zero knowledge on Swing and any other Java libraries.
Here is what I would say to someone starting it up.
- DO NOT under-estimate it. It is going to need your solid work, especially
if you are new to Java, with all your learning curve
- Get a good, solid design done. I kept on changing the design by my own
whims and fancies, there was lot of time wastage
- Use a standard Java editor like TextPad, which really helps your
development time.
I was using Notepad and Microsoft VC++ Text editor for most of the time until I realized it was messing up the tab spaces and switched to TextPad based on some suggestion in a thread
- Write your javadoc comments and choice.txt as and when you code.

I never followed the above points and I would have got the certification a month before had I, possibiliy with a better score.

Thanks once again all.

Regards
Vengan Krish
