Hello Ranchers,

I cleared the SCBCD exam today. I scored 98% (69/70).

My total preparation time was 40 days.

I finished the exam in 1.5 hours. Time is not an issue in this exam.

I would like to thank Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates for their wonderful book. You guys are the best...Looking forward to more books from your Head First Series.

I would also like to thank Mikalai Zaiklin for his concise and precise study guide.

HFEJB + Mikalai's notes were the only study material I referred. I think they are more than enough to get a good score.

Thanks to EJBCertificate.com for their wonderful exams. I had used javacertificate.com during my SCJP. You guys are getting better by the day.

Looking forward to some rest...

C'ya. Have a nice day. Bye.

Hello Ranchers,

Thanks to Tong, Peter, Narayanan, Sanju and Mikalai for their compliments.

Yohan,
HFEJB is the best possible book for a new comer to EJB. Go ahead and purchase the book. Believe me. It is worth it.

Hello Ranchers,

Thanks to Meera, Bert, David and Amit for their compliments.

Amit,

I used to put in approx 6-8 hours of study per day.

Study Strategy....

I first went through HFEJB completely. Then I went for a second round reading of HFEJB concentrating more on topics I was not very comfortable with. Finally I went through Mikalai Zaiklin's study guide.

A day before the exam, I skimmed through HFEJB concentrating only on lifecycle diagrams, interfaces, etc.

Hello Ranchers,

Thanks to Kedar and Deepika for the compliments.

Deepika,

When I gave the SCJP way back in January 2004, I had also prepared from K&B. Even I did not have the CD that comes with K&B containing the final mock exam. So I guess it's OK as long as you do some mock exams.

The following are a few good mock exam sites
(1) www.javacertificate.com
(2) www.danchisholm.net
(3) www.jiris.com

You can get the complete list from Javaranch.

Just make sure you attempt as many mock exams as possible.

Wishing you the very best for your exam.

Stay cool and crack the exam...
