Hi !

I am a new member of this group. I have plans to take up my SCJP but dont know when as I have started preparing. I juz wanted to ask you people how long does it take to study K&B. Since, I am busy with my work...I get time to study only late in night and probably in the week-end. Can u people say how long does it normally take to prepare for this certification or go through the k&B completely?

I read a chapter each week. I finished some chapter faster, but i had another important things to do (kids, spouse, movies, work, etc.).
I noticed that some friends too longer because they dedicated less time. Some folks here take one month.

You can do it much faster if you focus on the exam, but I think that 2 months is a good time. by the way, I used the same scheme for the SCWCD and it worked too. I dont know wich one is the next, but i will do the same.

The book is great and the is plenty of resources in the net. javaranch was very valuable, I used in at launch.

Even I have time only in week ends. It's difficult to read in weekdays after the working hours.
But i always have a javaranch window , opened in my system. So if you follow with all the threads in SCJP forum you can easily get a very good exposure in a couple of months and crack the exam.
