I took the essay exam four weeks and one day ago and got my results today.

General Considerations (maximum = 100): 96
Documentation (maximum = 70): 70
O-O Design (maximum = 30): 29
GUI (maximum = 40): 24
Locking (maximum = 80): 44
Data store (maximum = 40): 40
Network server (maximum = 40): 40

Total: 343 / 400

I'm relieved that I passed but disappointed about the locking score (44/80)....I see that a few other people also got this score. My locking scheme was clean and (I think) completely bulletproof...even badly-behaved Data callers would be handled correctly. I understand that the grading is subjective, but such an incongruous score makes me wonder if the grader even looked at my code. Now I wonder if I got a meaningful certification for my $400.

Anyway....whew....glad it's over.

Congratulations, Travis!

Something must be done about this. Let's start by reading this tiny ad:
