well I got a 62 on the 1.5 SCJP.

I am not very happy with that score, but at least I know which areas I need to improve.

For those who are in the process to take the test, I can suggest study more than I did (two weeks, an hour every evening from monday to friday, and sometimes reading on the train). Hard topics for me garbage collection, some of the serialization questions (not so many though) and some OO concepts.

I do not know if somebody else had them, but I've got some questions about claspath on unix and jar files.

I used the following material:

K&B 1.4 book. (Chapter for threads, inner classes and garbage collection)

http://www.jchq.net/phezam/login.php (mock exam)

http://java.boot.by/scjp-tiger/index.html (complete guide objective by objective, unfortunenatility did not have time to read it more carefully)

Now I have to start preparing for the SCJD.

A pass is a pass is a pass, you know. That's what matters most, and now that you know where you need to improve, you'll work on it.

Thanks for all the messages, I really appreciate them.

Ramu Chennai, I mostly used the following material:

http://www.jchq.net/phezam/login.php, I tried to do at least 20 questions per day in the week of the exam, sometimes you got repeat questions, but is a good tool.

http://java.boot.by/scjp-tiger/index.html, this is an excellent material to study carefully, after you understand it, go and try to code.

http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5/pdf/generics-tutorial.pdf, is a very good material to understand generics.

But if you could wait I would suggest wait for the new K&B book, the 1.4 book is so good that even if the new one isn't as good (which I doubt it)still will be one of the best tools to learn and pass the test. Even I already pass the test I am planning to buy and review some material from it.

Kathy and Bert, thank you so much for your dedication and effort that you've invested to create an excellent book.
