Hi folks,

I have finally registered for the SCJP exam on Oct17 th.Been thinking about writing this exam from 2001 but never got inspiration/time etc..but this time i have got the voucher and scheduled the exam.

i just have 18 more days to go for the exam.(6 holidays ( can study a max of 8 hrs/holiday )
+ 12 week workdays( 3 hrs max per day)
My Background: I have more than 5 years of Java Experience on/off at work mainly on server side and with Databases not exactly Core Java.

Preparation: Brought K&B SCJP 1.4 Book few weeks back. Went through the Objectives roughly. Also went through most of the posts here for information regarding mocks.

My Plan:
1)Complete the K& B book by 7 days.
Mainly concentrate on Threads,Collections and GC.
Run as many examples as i can
2)Days 8 -16
Do Dan's exams,Marcus free exams,Javacertificate.

3)Days 17,18
Review K&B ,notes prepared from Mocks.
4)Day 19:
Just relax and complete the exam.
Shooting for 80% at this time.

I wont be able to write this exam if not soon .I really got inspired by this Site and i would like to thank this site and folks in advance for my success.

Folks, please give me specific pointers if you can.

I am planning to post my daily study and what i had finished etc if its OK for the moderators.

Thanks again
Wishing me all the best

I think 18 days is enough for u as u have 5 yrs experience...
myself i have no experience..but it took 15 days(8hrs per day) for me to prepare for SCJP and i got 85%..i used Khalid book.. Exam at the end of Khalid book is good.. I dont know about Head first Java book.. but heard it was nice compared to khalid book.. Also try whizlabs Tests.. Exam is easy if u do as many as mock tests..
