I just passed the SCJ2P 1.4 after studying for a weekend. Thanks to Java Ranch for the round-up game - it helped. I used the PrepLogic Cram Exam Book, Dan Chisholm's mock exams (thank you!) and WhizLabs Mock Exams and lots of coffee <grin>. The mock exams seemed to simulate the actual pretty accurately. Now I'm trying to decide what's next - SCJD or SCEA. Does any know how dependent the SCEA is on the information in the SCJD? Sun's website stated finishing the SCJD was expected but not required before trying the SCEA. Thanks in advance for any insight.

Sincerely,
Guy

congrats Guy on passing the exam within a short time.I have my test in 3days and could you please let me know which mock was most accurate of all interms of final exam. I see so many mocks from DAN. most of them for real understanding of JAVA itself. Please let me know

thanks in advance

The WhizLab exams seemed to work best for me as far as targetting knowledge needed for the test. I'm fairly new to Java but have a background in other OO languages and am comfortable with most of the concepts. However, the Chisholm site helped me to better understand the Java syntax and how Java implemented these concepts. The WhizLab exams helped me gauge what areas I needed to focus on more. The Round-up game was a break from reading and memorizing.

You make a good point about learning Java versus learning what is needed to pass the exam. The test makes sure you know those areas covered by it though - it was hard to try to figure out what was the correct answer just from the list of answers available. Good luck on your exam!
