I think this exam was quite tricky with fewer straightforward questions
than I'd have expected.

I used Marcus Green's Examulator, it's excellent value for money.

There's a couple of articles about Generics on IBM's developerWorks site
that are pretty useful too.

With so many of the questions being drag-and-drop, it's frustrating that you can't go back and review your work. Well, you can but it warns you it'll scrub your previous answer if you want to go back to the drag-and-drop screen again. I feel Prometric really need to sort this out.

Regards,
David.

Hi David,

Congrats ! on becoming a TIGER certified pro.

Can you please tell the difference between the *1.5 upgrade* vs the *actual 1.5 exam*. Does the upgrade exam cover only the new topics like
Generics,Enums,Varargs,boxing/unboxing and formatting.

Thanks.
Srikanth.

Thanks for the name check David. I recently added DragDrop question capability to my online mock exam engine (through JavaScript). With mine, if you go back to a question you can see what options you selected, but if you want to make a change you have to reset all to the start. Does the real thing even allow you to re-browse your selections?

I'll use this thin excuse to make my first public announcment (blatant advertising?) of a new Study Guide for the Java 5 (JDK 1.5) exam. You can see more about it at

http://www.examulator.com/tamer

No, the prometric exam doesn't even let you go back and see what you've put for drag and drop questions. It seems this is annoying a lot of people. It can't be like this on principle, it can only be that the Prometric Exam Engine doesn't allow it.

Regarding the difference between the 5.0 and 5.0 upgrade, there appears
to be about 1 objective dropped from each section for the upgrade exam
and fewer questions in the upgrade too. I'm sure they are equally hard.

The upgrade exam doesn't just cover the stuff added to Java 5.0, it covers
other stuff like concurrency and nested classes too.

Regards,
David.
