Hi,

Took the SCJP 1.4 exam yesterday in Jakarta (anybody else here from the island of Java?) and passed it with a score of 98%.

The book by Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates turned out to be quite helpful, though I found the actual questions, at least in my case, somewhat easier than the ones provided in the self-test sections of their book, not to mention far less amusing.

Btw, I'm currently unable to log in to http://www.certmanager.net/sun/ (from some previous posts, I see that this is a common problem). Should I just wait several days before giving it another try, or should I do something, such as sending a message to SunCert@thomson.com, right away?

Thanks.

Hi Lucky
Congratulations on your passing. That is AWESOME score.
Btw, where is Jakarta island located? which country & continent?
I think it may take 2 to 3 days to check whether prometric has updated sun database or not? If you find any problems still in logging after 3 days, u can send a mail & you will get your id and password. All the best!

Rizwan ,it is located in Indonesia,Asia continent. There is also an island named Java. You will often listen about Java,Sumatra in Indian history too because in earlier times all these areasc were being ruled and covered by Indian Kings .

Thanks, Rizwan. I'll wait some more days.

And Agrah is correct. Jakarta, located in the Java island, is the capital city of Indonesia. (No, I believe we don't drink more coffee than people of any other country).

Thanks Mikalai, Karthikeyan, and Bert.

Re the login problem: still have it. Sent a message to Prometric <SunCert@thomson.com> two days ago. Currently in wait for their reply.

Thanks Rudy.
Umm. I believe there are a lot of cities here in our island where people use the "original java language" (as opposed to the one created by James Gosling) on a daily basis. Jogjakarta and Surakarta are among them.

Re the login problem: it persists.
