Hi Ranchers,

I am glad to share the news that i have scored 86%(60 correct answers) in my SCWCD exam on 2nd Jan 2006. This is just another apple from HFSNJ. So verey very thanks to HFSNJ team for their excellent work. I wish them all a very very healthy, wealthy life so that they can make further such valuable contributions to the Java Developer's world.

Further i am very thankful to my ranch mates, respectable authors who answered my queries and whose queries and suggestions i followed to get clarification on some issues.

Regards and Thanks,
Lalit

Congrats!
Hi Ranchers! I am Pawan, working with a software firm in India. Relatively less exp in java. I am preparing for the SCJP now. I do make it a point to visit this bb daily, as it gives me the right "push" to study for it.

For Karthik Rajashekaran
The best preparation book for beginners like me.Months of preparation required, mock papers.

Undoubtedly, the best book is Head First Servlets and JSP by Kathy Sierra, Bert Bates and Bryan Basham for a learner at any level. If you devote regular well scheduled intervals to ur study for SCWCD1.4, then it should not take you more than 3.5 months (including all revisions, mocks, specs, and all sorts of conceptual implementations).

A good source that polishes your basics is
http://www.javaranch.com/carl/scwcd/scwcd_mock_logo.jsp

A good mock exam url is http://www.j2eecertificate.com/scwcd/control/examcenter . Just do a
freeregistration and you can take topicwise mock exam with satisfactory answers and a complete random mock exam.

You can got yourself registered at
http://jdiscuss.com/Enthuse/jsp/ShowAvailableTests.jsp for free jwebplus exam by Enthuware.

Another url that contains helpful links is https://coderanch.com/t/170315/java-Web-Component-SCWCD/certification/SCWCD-Exam-Tips

Is it easier compare to SCJP???
Depends on what you are targetting at. If you just want to get certification - then its easier then SCJP1.4 but if you want to score well then you have to work really hard. Its bit difficult to score well because you have to memeorise many things and apply them when required as compared to SCJP1.4. But working hard for good results should not bother anyone who reaches saloon.javaranch.com.

Don't worry in any case as you have so many friends at java ranch who are always ready to support, assist and boost your confidence up.

Please let me know your yahoo mail id so that i can chat with you through messenger.

Sorry for denying this request as i am a working professional and chatting does not sound good while you are working. But you can send me mails for assistance and i will surely reply to them.

Just work with devotion and you will surely get good results. All the best for you preparation and certifcation.

Regards,
Lalit
