Hello.
I passed SCJP 1.4 today with 90%. Made some stupid choices for garbage collection which killed my score. (I used to get around 75-80 % in GC questions , at the exam only 33% )
My advice : Always look again at each question after you go through them once although time is not really on your side. This alone brought me 15% I guess.
And maybe a Java Language Specification study wouldn't hurt (I never used one).
BTW : the questions are similar to Marcus Green's mock exam so I guess a good point would be to do the 1.4 exam at his site (listed on the mock exam list)
Good luck to everybody
PS : I would like to go for SCBCD - do you think I need SCJP 1.5 for this or SCJP 1.4 is fine ?

Thanks . . I think I will start with Oracle Certification for a while and than go back to SCBCD and SCWCD (maybe SCBCD will be upgraded by that time).

Well. I have been using Java for about 4 years at the university and 1 year at my work place. I wanted to prepare in one month and take the exam in 2005 but I had no time so I stoped preparing. I resumed preparation on January 30 and took the exam in 10th of february.Basically just K&B book and the mock exams on the ranch where the key .
Anyhow I am dissapointed since I thought I am a Java advanced programmer. Until you get to such an exam you never really know. But at least I am happy I have passed.
