I used Khalid Mughal and Rolf Rasmussen's "A Programmer's Guide to Java Certification, Second Edition". I also used Marcus Green's exam simulator. I also had about a year of Java experience. If you can get through the book and take the MG's exams and feel confident, the actual exam should be a breeze. Also, WhizLab's expert questions on their exam simulator are much tougher and more complex than the actual exam questions.
Good luck to those taking the test.
