Whizlabs SCEA exam software was very useful. Also helps if you have a few years experience designing enterprise software as a lot of the stuff just makes common sense. Other books I used as cross-reference:

SCEA study Guide (Cade, Roberts) - HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
UML Distilled
Head First Design Patterns - HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Sams TY J2EE 1.4
O'Reilly J2EE design patterns
occasionally made reference to GoF
