Just found out I passed the SCJD. I didn't post much on this forum, but I read a huge amunt of posts and the advice here helped me a huge amount, so thanks to everyone who posts responses. Marks were as follows:

This report shows the total number of points awarded for each section. The maximum number of points is 400, to pass you need a score of 320. Section summary:
Section Max Actual Points Points
General Con: 100 88
Documentation: 70 70
OOD: 30 30
GUI: 40 16
Locking: 80 80
Data Store: 40 40
Network Server: 40 40
Total: 400 364

Don't know why I lost so many marks for my GUI - I always thought GUI design was one of my strengths!

Congrats

How did you deal with deadlock given your very impressive 80/80 in locking

Congrats.
Bummer on the GUI, but great score everywhere else.
How long did Sun take to grade your assignment after your exam?
Thanks.

Hi Alan,

I didn't take deadlocks into consideration. I had a business layer on the server side, so for instance I had a book() method that called lock, read, update and unlock in the finally block. This means that a client can't hold a lock open, and even if the client dies immediately after making the call, the server will finish it's method call and will only fail when trying to return. Similarly I ignored the possibility of orphaned locks. Of course I mentioned all this in my choices document.

Cheers
Jon
