Ok, I dunno what I'm doing wrong, but when I use UBB url tags, I keep getting "help" from the UBB interpreter that turns my links into "http://" lookups. The JavaRanchers who see this then refer to my link as "broken," which I do not like.
When I edit my post, I see my link gets changed to something like url="http://http://yadayada.com/MapInAWaitressOutfit.jpg"
Anyone know the scoop here? I'm on 56k today and too impatient to test.

Are you sure you want url tags? If so, use them like
[ url=http://yadayada.com/MapInAWaitressOutfit.jpg]Surprise[ /url]
If you wish a graphic it to show in the Post use the img tag instead
[ img]http://yadayada.com/MapInAWaitressOutfit.jpg[ /img]

map
Do you post your URL without "http" prefix? Just "www.map.com"? I tried to do it above.

It looks like the unwanted "help" from UBB is activated when you put quotes around the URL. I can't figure out how this feature was intended to work; looks like it's simply broken. But if you don't put quotes inside the [url] tag, you shouldn't have any problems.

I just had the craziest dream. This tiny ad was in it.
