Ok people,

sad story. I failed the exam. You want to know how. I went back corrected few questioned i answered correctly and last few minutes i messed it up.

i got 25/46 all i need is one extra answer.

Anyway i learnt few lesson. Do the Task type question later. I wasted time to correct it.

Also 310-056 is not as difficult as it was in SCJP 1.4.

My preparation was not good at this time. I have to create check list for attacking the question. I waste too much time in reading the question.

Anyway...well I will take scjp 6. Do not want to waste my money on scjp 5 again. When is scjp 6 is ready for certification?.

Thanks
Alexk

t.start();
t.start();

I changed from exception to compile error at the last minute and failed myself at last minute. What a moron.

Advice: Never go back and correct your answers. Most of the time you will make a mess out of it.

I wouldn't be so sure, that SCJP6 will ever be released. There are not so much differences according to the tiger. For instance there wasn't SCJP for 1.3.

I wish you more luck for the next time.

Oh man...missing it by one question is tough...sorry to hear about that. If you took it again immediately, you'd probably pass though. At least you know of one that you know you missed.

I had to take the normal (not upgrade) exam more than once and each time, it had a question where there were two calls to start, so I'm sure that question would reappear.

Now you know a runtime exception would be thrown.

Good luck if you decide to take it again.

Try again. Don't give up. I failed the full SCJP 5 exam a month ago and I almost gave up. I went and got another book and bought the Whizlabs practice exams and it gained me another 10 points in 4 weeks.

To fully understand the exam you can't read just the books and do the mock exams. You HAVE to code examples and twist them around and play "what if I do this?". This exam is different in 1.4 because you can't memorize a book and expect to pass the exam. Take a week off and then attack the studying again. At least you know what to expect.

Alex,
I'm sorry to hear that you were so close from being certified. You should give it another shot. Can you tell us if the Upgrade exam contains only 1.5 specific stuff, or is there also 1.4 content ?
