Hey, I finally made it.I got 95% in SCJP 5 today.Only 3 were wrong out of 72. For Success in This exam with 100% is The "formula Mock Tests".So much we can know from MockTests.Really I appeared for many mock tests.I can Say that Real exam was some what tougher than Mocks(Not that much K&B master exam).I got 98% in whizlabs test and I got 82% in K&B mock. Be practiced for the API contents(They are the first "gun shot" points we can have in the exam). For Thread related questions and Generics, collections K&B book was very nice. The coverage was very good.Once again thanks to Kathy sierra and Bert Bates.Without such a nice book good results can never be achieved. We have to appreciate them for giving such a nice book(It is very helpful in the entire career not only for exam). Dont study a book for getting things.Practice...Practice...practice and then practice. You can get more things by practicing.
I have to thank all the ranchers who made me to think in right way.Jothy shanker,my friend, brought lot of new things even the basics(which I thught I know well,But I learnt, I have to know more).I have to thank him.
I feel very happy to be with ranch people and help to those people who want to take things challenging.
It is open to you. If you want to become a BCD, then give SCBCD, or a web applications developer, then SCBCD. The java path is like SCWCD and then SCBCD. It is always better to know more. So do both.
Hi Burkhard, I not mensioned it was 100% coverage for SCJP in case of API.I said the concepts like Thread related aspects, inner classes, Generics and collection and concept oreanted things(We might feel hard if we not clear in those topics). Even we cant say A book will cover all the API content...!because a lot of things are there in API.Only the importent things are always be discussed every where for a perticular situation.

can I know any other mocks exam have you done? I heard WhizLab is more challenging than real exam tough.

btw, which API contents we should focus on? printf? date format?
Hello Anthony, According to my paper The questions are slght harder.API contents are all the things those are specified in the objectives. And thank you for your warm response.
Congratulations!! I'm glad to hear K&B coverage of generics is enough because I really had a bad feeling about this. You can find exercises that are not solvable with K&B knowledge and there I paniced a bit... But now I know I don't have to worry about that anymore I have about 3 complete days before the examn to do mock's (now I'm going through the book for the second time, refreshing stuff) btw, should we all start reading java docs ? because I study K&B for the api, I have enought trouble remembering that..
Hi Mark Uppeteer, There is alot to remember in API.Dont blindly go through there is a big logic. If you have more time (means 5 days or above) Complete reference by Herbert is the best way to concentrate on API important areas, ah, and dont forget to read only the required API specified by Objectives(There is an Objective on API Contents for SCJP 5 ). If you have less time then Hurry to take docs and K&B book both of the simultaniously, remember one thing while preparing API in K&B covers most of the things in API,but you have to go for more in the API for the classes specified(Only those classes specified nothing more, because time is less) in K&B.
There are only two days remaining go for the master exam in K&B it covers more things. In javaranch in "FAQs for programmer cert" you can find several mocks for SCJP 5.I have gone throgh 5 or 6.All the best for yor certification.
