Missed the SCJP 5 by 2 questions. What really sucked was that on the final review page where it shows you the Qs you marked to go back and review and haven't answered yet doesn't display all of the Qs (you have to move the scrollbar). I came to that realization with 0:1:30 on the clock and had unanswered questions and questions to review. Failed on that, but regardless should have got a better score. So I am dropping another $200 and retaking it on this Wednesday after 2 weeks of studying.

It is alrite, you dont worry. Better luck next time. You take lots of mock exams before facing the real one.
My Best wishes to you.

Cheers,
Mamatha

I'm sure more people fail the test in their first attempt than Ranchers may have come to believe.

Good luck for the next attempt!

Dear Aaron,

You are not alone and you see very less posts about failure because not everyone has the courage to say that I failed. So, I appreciate your courage.

I recommend you to focus on your weak areas and do lots of practice, especially writing code in the areas you find difficulties. Do ask people at this forum if you face any difficulty in a particular topic and I am sure Java experts at Java Ranch will be more than happy to support you.

Wish you success in your next attempt!

Best wishes,
Pradeep

Good luck for your next attempt. Focus on your weak points. If possible, try some commercial mocks to help you pointing them out.

Wish you have better luck next time.
But remember: No Pain, No Gain. The certification exam is not so easy as you think: many people takes over 90% score but many of them are experienced Java Programmers or studied very hard to take the test.
