Thank you java ranchers for helping me through the exam. Certification Results forum was most helpful as it provided me the guidelines how people passed the test and most importantly which books to use for preparation. I started K&Bs book. It made me worried almost all the times whenever I completed a Self Test exam at the end of each chapter. In most of the chapters I was able to score 45% on average( Although I have 7+ years of Java/J2EE development experience). Due to lack of time from my business only able to finish up the last chapter a day before the exam and results consistency (45%) remained the same except for the couple of chapters. On the morning of the test I practiced the quiz part for 45 minutes and was forced to use tips and reference of each question every time. When I reached the examination center I was sure of going to be failed as I read the whole book just for one time. But the exam proved to be relatively simple as Exam watches of Book were really really very helpful during the exam. When I completed the test I was sure that I am going to pass the test . Now going to hunt for Architect Exam and still expecting the same time crunch. Any suggestion for me how to proceed for SCEA?

Jalal, Congratulations!

Could you confirm that which books you used for the exam? Just the HF book?
I thought that it was for EJB 1.2 not for EJB 1.3? If I am wrong, please correct me.

Congratulations! I recommend regular participation in SCEA forum for your exam. Do understand that unlike SCJP, SCEA will take significant more time and attention and you must plan accordingly.

Best wishes,
Pradeep

Congrats, Jalal, and thank you for the description of your studying process. I seem to be on about the same pace as you were, and I was starting to wonder if I should continue studying for SCJP, or switch to SCPA instead. After your message, I will continue to plug away in "K and B"'s book for SCJP.

I will also take advantage of Sun's current offer for a free retake on the exam, and go ahead and take the real test sooner to a real feel for it, not worrying so much about my score. Hopefully, I'll pass the first time anyway!

Good luck to you!
