Hello,

I purchased SCJP exam vocher april 2006 and I wrote the exam on 30May2007.
I cleared the exam but I got only 55%. so I would like to retake my exam to get better percentage.
My questions are
1. Since my vocher expired on 31May2007. Do I need to buy a new vocher?
2. If I retake the exam will my previous exam results get void?
3. Will I get both the certificates for previous and new exam? Can I use any one of the certificates?
4. Can I retake the same version SCJP1.4 again?
5. Will the retake policy apply for me?

Please kindly provide the answers. I would like to retake the exam by June last week.

Thanks & Regards,
Srirekha

Congratulations. In my opinion it's better for you to pay your money for certification in another subject, or for upgrading to SCJP 5.0, rather than retaking SCJP 1.4.

Hi

Thank you very much. I dint tell any one as I got a low score.
In India percentage matters and writing 1.4 again is easy for me instead of 1.5.
Please could some one help me out of my doubts?

In India percentage matters In India percentage matters

The matter of your score is between you and Sun only. You are a Sun Certified Java Programmer for Java 1.4. If a company insists on knowing your score tell them to contact Sun (who will most probably tell the company it's none of their business and that they are misusing the certification).

Congrats!

I don't think percentage matters, it is the knowledge on the subject that matters when you attend the interview!

Congratulations!

Spend your money for an upgrade exam on java 5. It makes more sense to learn new things like generics etc. I am sure you it is easier to get a better score with new challenges.

Hi,
Thank you very much for your advice. I am planning to go with SCWCD which I intend to complete by july end. as their is some offer on that vocher.
Now we are getting that vocher for 4500rs instead of 7200rs. This offer is valid only till july last week.
so I want to take advantage of it.
I got some answers for my questions. I thought I will share with you
1. If you pass a certification. you cannot retake the same exam. so their is no question of getting new certificate.
2. If your vocher expired a day after you wrote the exam you are not eligible for retaking the exam with in 15days. you need to go for a new vocher.

Thank you very much for your support. I today told in my office that got through the exam. yet to tell my manager

have a great day

Thanks & Regards,
Srirekha
