Hi Ranchers,

I cleared SCJP 5.0 today. 76%..

Declarations, initialization and scoping :: 75%
Flow Control :: 72%
API Contents :: 100%
Consurrency :: 100%
OO Concepts :: 90%
Collections/Generics :: 30%
Fundamentals :: 72%

So, the dark mark was GENERICS!!!

I had worked pretty hard on both generics and threads..
I am into JAVA since last 8 months only..

But I expected 80+..

Anyways, 76% also is good.
I am regular user of Javaranch though I dont post much topics but I read almost all...

Advice me what next should I do..
I am working on J2EE and Oracle in my project...

Thanks to you all,
Komal

Congratulations Komal R Kumar

Though your overall score was not up to your expectations, i think you have a superb score (100%) in the so-called-toughest-topic-of-scjp "Concurrency". Yesterday there was one another rancher who also got it!

Hi komal,

Congrats for passing the exam.

I just gave K&b master exam today,I scored 64%,and was pretty disappointed.
because i find that time wasn't sufficient,i completed only 65 of 72.
and felt the exam tough.
So what do you think of time management.
Wondering whether i will be able to clear the main exam.

Thanks
Kalpana.

Hi Ranchers,

Thanks a lot Srinivas, Debasmita, Raghavan, Kalpana, Jothi, Mohit and Dhwani for your wishes.

Kalpana,
Time management is really. I followed the method given in the beginning of K&B book only. Just modified it a bit.
Make two sections on the rough sheet.
Go through the exam a bit fast in round -1 and put all sure-shot correct answers in first column and ones you are not so sure in column 2. Those which are very difficult mark them.
Dont forget to tick the drag and drop questions because if you re-open the task the previous answer is lost.
So, better give them full concentration in first shot or write down the answer on the rough sheet also.
In round-2 dont even look at the sure-shot ones just go through the 2nd column ones and the marked ones.
After all are answered, go through all 72 questions but dont change an answer unless you have a strong reason to.

Dont worry. You will pass it.. Questions are a bit tricky..
But read the 2-min drill and exam watch before goin to exam. They really help.

Good Luck,
Komal.
