Greetings!
This is my first post on JR.
I passed JCSP5 with 86% on Dec 19! I am very happy.
Just in case someone is interested in how I prepared for the exams. I read the K&B book one time a year ago, then I never got back to it. I have been programming
Java for awhile. All sudden I wanted to take the exam -- just before Xmas...
I read the book again many times every day on my bus ride to work and on the way back. I am usually very tired in the morning and after work so the reading was not so productive. But I did try out a lot of snippets of code to understand the concepts from the books and I completed the many mockup exams freely available on the web and via JR. Some of the mock-ups out there are way too unnessarily (or at least not-practically) complicated. Maybe the authors of those complex mockup exams were just trying to show off something -- no one codes Java in such way at work (this is my opinion -- you see this a lot in Generic topics).
I did not buy any mockup exams and I lost the CD from the K&B book so I did not try any mockup questions came with the CD either.
Sun exam seem be a bit more practical/reasonable and not as hard as I expected. I failed the most at Concurrency (got only 62%). For other parts I got all 80% and above. I got two 100% for to objectives.
For those who are preparing for the exam, if you have done enough reading and mockup tests then
you should be OK... But how much of prepration is enough?
You will know it yourself... I felt excited and also confident that I would pass. Ofcoz I was nervous as well. But I thought I was ready... think possitively in stead.
Thanks to JR... Cheers. T
