Hi everyone, this is my first post in Javaranch.

After three months preparing the SCWCD 5 exam, last friday I've taken and passed the certification with a score of 86%.

I have read Head First Servlets & JSP (first edition), and done the final mock exam of the HFSJ, second edition (by the way, there were a lot of mistakes in the answers, I think...I only scored 70% and I was afraid that the real exam was so difficult, but it wasn't). I've also read Manning's SCWCD Exam Study Kit, both editions (I first started with the first edition, and when I realized that the contents where from J2EE 1.3, I've started with the second edition).

Two days before to take the exam, I entered Javaranch and I saw that it was a great place to share info about the exams, I've read some posts that really helped me on the exam. I've registered to continue to share the experiences with other exam candidates (both SCJP and SCWCD); furthermore I want to prepare for the SCBCD exam, I guess I can be prepared to take it after the summer or so.

Well, that's all for now, I apologize for my writing, because English is not my native language. If you want I can tell you about the questions in the exam, now that I still remember some of the questions (by the way, there is a LOT of topics regarding JSP/JSTL/EL, and less than I thought of topics like Tag Libraries, or tricky questions about knowing exactly all the Servlet API, error codes, IllegalStateExceptions and so).

My scores:

The Servlet Technology Model...........................83%
The Structure and Deployment of Web Applications.......75%
The Web Container Model................................85%
Session Management.....................................100%
Web Application Security...............................66%
The JSP Technology Model...............................100%
Building JSPs using EL.................................100%
Building JSPs using Standard Actions...................75%
Building JSPs using Tag Libraries......................75%
Building a Custom Tag Library..........................100%
J2EE Patterns..........................................100%

See you later!
