Hello Ranchers,
Elated that I've passed SCWCD 5 with 92% :-)
Well, i've been a silent member of this forum for quite some time now, but thought i should contribute by sharing my small experience on clearing this exam, so that it could be useful for new web programmers like me. [even though it may be redundant for others

]
Preparation: Total (74 days)
First 30 days completed HFSJ book and practiced all the new concepts. Next 34 days, prepared for the exam...
Books/References: i. HFSJ (first edition) - 3 times
ii. David Waterbridge - Once [Amazing book that quotes tips and techniques that HFSJ missed

- A must read book with negligible errata]
iii. Mikalai Zaikin notes - Twice [Covers necessary topics precisely -Useful cruncher on the last day!]
iv. Peabody notes on
patterns Mocks: i. All the mocks that can be found in
SCWCDLinks ii. Enthuware jWebPlusv5 (
Test 1 to 8 - Scored 81 to 93) - A useful lot
iii. HFSJ
Coffee Cram - Scored 70
iv. David Waterbridge - All review Qs and mock exam (this was very very tough)
My advise is take lots of mocks and learn from your mistakes... About the exam: - About 60% of questions had EL in them... (Well, scripting days are dead i guess)
- Didn't expect - But got 2 questions from dynamic attributes
- Surprised to find the difficult level of web security was little high - thats were i scored less :-(
- 1 ambiguous question from web deployment
- 5 drag & drop Q's
Well, thats it... All the best for new SCWCD aspirants...
