Does anybody else find it sad that to do JCert you now have to learn Visual Age (or WebSphere Studio)? No other vendors offer a 2B exam since Oracle is now out. I always thought the 2B exam was a bad idea anyways since it tests knowledge of an IDE. Someone mentioned SCWD as a good 2B-type exam, I think that would be a step in the right direction if Sun offered this.
JCert is supposed to be vendor-neutral but we have no choice except IBM for Level 2. Is JCert dying the quiet death? All of this makes me want to pursue JCert even less.
SCJP, SCWD, SCEA (Part I), WebLogic Developer (JCert 3B)

If there is no more choice other than VAJ or WSAD, let us learn WSAD. I am playing with WSAD. It seems a good IDE.

It is not the point of learning WSAD or not. It is why are we forced to use this IDE? Where is the JBuilder exam? Where is the WebGain exam? Better yet, where is the IDEA exam? How can JCert claim to be vendor neutral when there is only one 2B choice? Personally, I think testing knowledge in an IDE is a waste of time.
I think the 2B requirement in JCert is the weak link. The other requirement exams are great.
